Hero In Uniform 3 2

Rosa Torres Tufts

It is difficult to know where to start when writing about veteran Los Angeles Firefighter, Rosa Tufts. Rosa, who has over 30 years experience under her belt as a Firefighter, with over a decade of Arson Investigator experience, has just become the first female Firefighter to win the distinguished 2017 “Firefighter of the Year” award. Not only is she an inspiration to up-and-coming LAFD personnel, but also to young women everywhere– Rosa is the only female Arson Investigator in the LAFD.

Not only does Rosa complete her professional duties with excellence, she mentors younger colleagues and instructs programs to “enhance organizations such as the NFPA, IAFF, DHS, and FEMA,” as proudly reported by the Los Angeles Fire Department.

Rosa was recently honored by NBC Los Angeles for her award-winning career with the LAFD. In the article, she is characterized as tough (and we are not surprised!) and when asked about receiving the Firefighter of the Year award, Rosa says “It’s just wonderful. And to be recognized, beyond words.”

Walker Foods is proud to highlight such an amazing woman and true local Hero! Rosa deserves every bit of recognition for her distinguished career and her commitment to the Los Angeles community. She has dedicated her life to keeping others safe and Walker Foods, as a Los Angeles company, wishes to express their deepest gratitude for her commitment. Thank you for all you do, Rosa!
